![]() Out comes the grinder and with a little massaging to the insides of the perches the leaf springs are now sitting correctly in the perch. This past spring I installed lakewood traction bars, during install I noticed that the multileafs did not sit flat in the perches. I had a spring shop install three leaf springs a couple years ago which they did not change the perches to multi leaf perches. I have a 70 nova which had the original mono leaf springs when I purchased it. Are you happy with the results when the Leaf Spring Insulator Pads were removed?.For street driven cars, did you notice any additional noise and/or vibration after the removal of the Leaf Spring Insulator Pads?.Is your car mainly driven on the street?.I am looking for feedback from those members that have removed both the upper and/or lower Leaf Spring Insulator Pads. I did some research in the "Search Community" sections and the sentiment seems to be mixed. Based on my trail fitting of the rear end without the insulator pads, the overall installation seems to be more secure. so the spring perches would still be fully torqued onto the leaf springs if I left all of the insulator pads out. Even with both insulator pads removed (upper and lower) the depth of the leaf springs is more the the depth of the spring perch. I have multi-leaf perches with multi-leaf springs and 1/2" U-bolts. ![]() or leaving out the upper and/or lower Leaf Spring Insulator Pads. I had to do a little work on my 12 bolt and wanted to get some opinions about installing.
